11161 Singing Helps

Here is a tip to help with learning the language - sing it

Books can be dull and language CDs tiresome after a while, so if you have never sung in Italian why not give it a go. I find it helps me feel more Italian and "let go".If I see something I don't understand in the lyrics I'll go and look it up, so there is some focus to the learning, but most of all it's about learning and having fun.

Here are links to a favourite song by legend Vasco Rossi and then to the lyrics.

The lyrics are quite relevant to this time of "crisi"

Anyone else got any belters to sing along to?

Singing and watching movies and TV plus listening to the radio in Italian will be great learning aids for anyone struggling with the language.

Gala, now that is what I call multi-tasking!!!

I have an Eros Ramazzotti song that is excellent for belting out. If you learn the words to this you will never feel out of place at a sagra or party when everyone starts singing.

I defy anyone not to sing along to the chorus...

Singing in Italian is fun, especially if you can get a copy of the lyrics to read. At our village dancing classes, (I am the worst student), to warm up, we do the Casalinga group dance and by now I have learnt all the words and movements...pity about the steps though!

Go on - show us a photo or two

Here's the link to quite a long thread done a couple of years ago on this topic. There are some good tracks to learn on this thread, but some may have been removed after all this time by Youtube due to the copyright infringements. However, if you see "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation" just type in the song title into the search box on Youtube as I'm sure the vast majority are available again now from different sources/new posters.

Lyrics are also provided for all the songs on the thread.
