It is not the average Christmas movie.... but it (fictionally) takes place in the Christmas Court at Chinon in 1083, "The Lion in Winter". Great entertainment with a fabulous cast headed by Peter O'Toole and Katherine Hepburn.

Strange I don't ever remember this film Gala being shown on UK TV.
Here's an excerpt plus there are additional links to videos allied to the film on the Youtube website.. Actually it could be the whole film is there. I recently watched "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid" in it's entirety but over 14 videos. lol

Why am I not surprised the Muppets are featured in this thread?
My favourite is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory often features at Christmas, but unfortunately always too early in the day for adults to be suffciently lubricated to enjoy it.
Maybe this year they'll show The Red Balloon - (a short, which was digitally re-engineered last year) - don't miss it if it's on.
But my vote goes to 'Mr Blandings builds his Dream House' (made about thirty years before 'The Money Pit'). Those two films are really must-sees for anybody embarking on a house restoration, and also for those who've been there, got the tee-shirt. You can usually find them on some obscure UK channel in the 'early hours' over the holiday period - they are very funny and well observed!

I don't see any of these alas on the five main UK channels and these are the films they are showing on Christmas Day instead.
The African Queen
Oklahoma!
Wallace & Gromit In The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Scrooged
Memoirs Of A Geisha

Apart from, IMHO, Quantum ..............In one 2 minute fight scene there were at least 50 jump cuts and angles...........to many and the whole film is pretty much like that.
Do you mean on the telly??? Without a doubt - "Some Like It Hot". If I'm also allowed another one - "Gone With The Wind" Maybe you could turn this into a poll???
