11177 What is that song?

On my last trip to Italy I heard this song on the radio, and it has stuck in my mind ever since.
I went on the hunt to find out the title and the singer, It's taken me two months to track it down. Perhaps all you lucky folk that live in Italia know this song well. But for all the folk like me who caught only snatches. Here it is...

A great song to learn and with the lyrics is "L'Italiano" by Toto Cotugno. Ideal for those learning Italian.

"A Ferro e Fuoco" is on the new album from Mario Venuti called L'officina del Fantastico, but if you like this artist, check out his older stuff as well. There are some really good tracks from Venuti - especially "Veramente" and "Crudele" - just type the song titles into Youtube.

Meanwhile, here are the lyrics for you and a VERY rough translation. (Don't take the translation literally - there is bound to be massive errors - it's difficult to translate songs/poetry as my Italian is crap, but it should give you the gist.) Enjoy. :smile:
