11200 Using Internet Explorer - Beware

This has just been discussed on Radio 4. It seems there is a serious flaw in the programme which leaves you vulnerable to hacks. Microsoft are issuing a free patch that you can download later today. In the meantime the advice is to use another browser.

I only use Firefox, as it is not as vulnerable as IE. Explorer is usually targeted by hackers, so not that good a bet.

An example of journalistic "balance", reminding us that Firefox has required a security update BEFORE any hackers exploited the flaws, at the same time as telling us that Microsoft took "only" eight days to fix a common systematic error in Internet Explorer which has exposed millions of users to real, aggressive attack.
