Hi Kevin and welcome to the Forum. As David said, you are going to need more data than just the family name to find any relatives in Italy. Apparently there are a few people in Italy who share your family name and they are all over Italy:

Who was born in Italy, your father, your grandfather..... any idea? You can access some websites which will be helpful in tracing your ancestry, but you need more information.

Heres a map of the distribution of your name in Italy: LEVRONE - L'Italia dei Cognomi
Looks like they're almost all in Piemonte (Piedmont), in the province of Cuneo. But that's quite a large area, containing many different cities and villages.

The link didn't reproduce the map of your name as I expected. But just enter Levrone into the box in the top left-hand corner under 'cognome', click the red arrow and it will appear.

I've always found the link provided by Bosco to be very accurate.
PS. Are you the Kevin Levrone? :notworthy:

I'm sure it is - did you check out the link he gave with his post?
I also found this on the wiki site:

In this site there is a list of helpful links; however, as I said before, you need to have more information about your ancestors, such as birthplace or at least region to facilitate the search.

If you check the IMDb as suggested one can see that Kevin Levrone was actually born in Rome so perhaps that is where his family come from. :veryconfused:

Hi Kevin,
My origins are Italian too and I think an excellent place to look is:
Ellis Island - FREE Port of New York Passenger Records Search
It's a site containing the names of all the people who emigrated to the US! You can print the original passenger records of the ships.
I've checked your surname already and it seems that there was possibly a spelling error on the ship documents. Have a look at the variations of your surname anyway! Better still you can seach by year!
Hope this helps

Hi Tinacara,
Good suggestion and we have done this ourselves, but I don't know if it applies to Kevin as he said his father was Italian in his bio.
I spent 4 years amassing documents as we are trying to get dual citizenship. In our case, we started with Ellis Island as my husband's family came over awhile ago. It would be helpful for Kevin to get the long form of his birth certificate which has detailed family information there and then he can trace backwards. He can also check out the Mormon website as they have family history as well, although since it looks like his situation is not the same as immigrants who have been in the States awhile, so I don't know how much information they'll have. I don't get it Ghianda - what are you referring to as spam?
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Ghianda is saying (I think) that Kevin Levrones post here is to promote himself/his website only.
I say it doesn't matter even if it is 'cus we learnt something about someone - and that song is pretty cool.

It just seemed odd to me that after an initial request for help we haven't heard anything back from the originator. Apols to everyone if i have missed something.

I thought you might have been referring to that but I think some members don't check in for quite some time, so I guess we'll see what happens.
Thanks for the explanation!:winki:
What have you tried so far to find your family, Kevin? What area are they from?
