Best wishes for the New Year 2009 to all Italy Magazine Forums Members.
Did you enjoy Christmas time? And what about the 31st of December?
Waiting to hear from you, your experiences during Christmas time. Have you learned some new recipes? Have you encountered some particular differences with your own country?
I had Panettone and spumante almost every day. That's enough!
As the majority of Italian people I prepared my own Presepe and a little Christmas tree in the living room! I'd like to watch to some photos of your decorations or of your town's decorations!
Too much questions for now. Another Panettone is waiting for me! Bye Bye!

Happy New Year to you too Cristaina. The best bit for me has been walking 45 minutes through Holland Park in London in the bitter cold and sun, rewarding myself with a piping hot large cappuccino and a mince pie in a cosy coffee bar. You can buy panetone here too. Next time though I plan to celebrate in Italy. Have you been to London Cristiana???
Finally in answer to your request for photos. Well here's one of the many beautiful decorations in London this year. I have passed under it and survived!!! lol It's so beautiful.
On Monday 8 December at 7pm the Knightsbridge Business Group, in association with Swarovski and designer Ingo Maurer, will unveil and illuminate a stunning five-metre Swarovski crystal snowflake that is set to light up Knightsbridge this Christmas.
The snowflake, designed by leading lighting designer Ingo Maurer, will hang between Harvey Nichols and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and marks the first ever Christmas decoration in Knightsbridge.
A miniature Swarovski crystal replica of the snowflake will be sold as a Christmas ornament in Harvey Nichols and Harrods. Swarovski will donate a percentage of proceeds to charity.
“The Knightsbridge Business Group wanted to contribute to the festive season in a way that is very different and special. We were delighted that Swarovski agreed to create this magnificent crystal snowflake that will light up Knightsbridge and attract more visitors to the area. Costing £200,000, measuring five-metres wide and weighing the same as a large Mercedes, this fabulous snowflake is sure to add a sparkle to the festive season,” - Derek Picot, Chairman of the Knightsbridge Business Group
