11317 Internet Connection via ADSL

I have just picked up a leaflet for Tooway which looks quite interesting if you do not or cannot have ADSL or a phone line at your house.

They have an offer at the moment (until 9th January) and it costs €125 +IVA for the installation of the 67cm dish & modem (instead of €499 +IVA) and the line rental is €29.90 +IVA for 4Gb.

The uplink speed is 384kbps and download is 2084kbps which is pretty good for Satellite. The big thing is you can download and upload at the same time and it doesn't require a phoneline. You can also connect a wireless router to the modem. It will handle VoIP but it isn't clear from the website if this costs extra.

Just thought some of you might be interested

A useful post Penny and because we have had such poor service/support from Ariadsl I thought I'd read all that was on offer at Tooway. There is no mention of what they offer in the way of support when the service " goes down" and so perhaps what they are selling isn't a bargain? I think that perhaps those considering Tooway should check out the support offered and get the details in writing.
