11385 How to Add Link to Windows Media Audio/Video File?

How do you add the link for a windows media audio/video file? I have a few animal videos I would like to post in Pet Groups but as the video starts right away when you get to the site, there is no link to copy and paste.

I believe that if you are adding a link from your own computer, then it needs to be acting as a server and so is more likely to be attacked by hackers etc. I may be wrong, but I am sure someone on here can tell you the best way ......... maybe by Youtube or another 3rd party software.

You mention "the site", so presumably the videos are already on a server. Can you post the link to the page rather than the video? i.e what do YOU click on to see the videos?

One of the videos is a home movie of our cat and dog playing which is located with my pictures on my computer. The other was sent to me by a friend and is a movie of a cat and dog playing. Both open with the windows media audio file I mentioned and I see no way to get them onto the Forum's site.

Ok from what you have said above, I'm pretty certain that you will have to host them somewhere on an external server first, like Youtube, Facebook or, Imageshack (or similar) and then from there, you can add the link to your posts.[/quote]

Thanks Oneto15,

I will give it a try with one of them. The home video of our cat and dog playing unfortunately has us talking in the backround and unless I figure how to edit it out, wouldn't want to put it out there.
