Ah no I received the news from someone who lives there, albeit they might be trying to entice me out!! lol

We have new leaves on our fruit trees.............and no thats not an invite ......lol

Well here in the North (Mantova, Lombardia) it's dull, wet and no sign of sun. I spoke to some friends last night in Puglia and they also said that it's very sunny and warm.

Looks like i'll be moving further south at some point in the future!

My daughter in a ski chalet says that it was rather warm over the weekend, but things are back to normal with lots of new snow and cold weather. They have been having a great season!

Monday, yes it was, but last night and today here in Puglia we are back to the dreary wet and windy, with no sun to speak of. You may be moving further south than you thought.

sally.... your friends may well have been right

last three days... not today...its warm but cloudy... have been eating outside at lunch here.... and if you are in the right place with the sun and shelter it has been warm...

mornings starting off at plus 10....celsius

the other day the air conditioning unit even came on in the car as we were driving along and that's set at 23.5.c ...

however these are midday full sun temps and even though it does feel warmer ...in fact much warmer here after the cold spell around new year ... a realistic temp would be better suggested out of the sun and not at midday...

snow is getting a good shine on it...which is a sure sign that the sun is at work...however temperatures in the mountains are still very low... and i do not see any real signs of an early spring melt to the snow as yet... however February is often a very warm month here...so am hoping this year will be the same....

Judging by previous years it may be warm now but we could have 3 feet of snow next week!

Not all that warm here at 500 m slm on the eastern slopes of the Gran Sasso: it hasn't got above 10° at any point over the last few days. However, nor has it got colder than 6° at night.

Last year, the daffodils here started blooming in mid-February. At the moment, there's not even any sign of leaves starting to appear.

I do think that this winter has been much cooler, wetter and generally greyer than last.

In fact, the last of the snow we got on Boxing Day only disappeared yesterday. Admittedly, that was originally a fairly large pile scrapped off our driveway by our neighbour with his tractor and it was on a north-facing slope, but the way it lingered so long says something about how warm it has been here.

London has been hovering around 5 and below during the day for at least eight weeks. Not last Saturday but the previous one it actually was 0, the coldest on record. 10 sounds okay to me. lol

In quite a few places around the Northern Hemisphere we have been experiencing unusual freezing temperatures. In my hometown in the North of Spain we have had heavy snow at sea levels (actually, the beach was covered in snow). On the other hand, I have been told that temperatures in Australia were very high, even for this time of the year. So the climate is in turmoil.

Well, here in Sicily, the almond trees are in flower, the poppies are out and it was 22 degrees last week. I have a field full of sunflowers that have been in flower since November. Perhaps you should all think of moving!

Very kind of you, but have you got enough bedrooms for all of us? I'll go pack!

Ah could it be that Ram's advice is biased??? lol

Hmmm. 45cm (+) snow today in the Aosta valley - and that's at mid main valley level.

Aha! Just looked out the window and it's stopped. Various people digging their cars out!
