Sorry I thought this was ITALY mag
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
For people trying to travel back to the UK today I'd say it is relevant.
If you are going to snipe at relevance, I suggest you look closer to home, especially if "it's late and you're bored"
I can’t read these posts but then I am on Italy Mag forum, not the London weather centre! Someone tell me if they have any relevance…please!
How Silly

Thanks Russ for enlightening Nielo. lol

No offence taken whatsoever and fortunately I do have a sense of humour too.
I had understood the "circolo" to be about general Italian topics not covered elsewhere in this forum, hence my rather barbed comment on relevance. I just didn't see the need for you to make a dig at someone who was trying to be generally helpful to people who may have been flying back to Stansted today, just because you didn't think it relevant.
Perhaps you just got up on the wrong side of the hill this morning.
Thank you Russ, you are quite right and I am sure that people heading for Stansted will be glad of the information.
As for ‘It’s Late…’ that is in the circolo and is only really for people with a sense of humour. I’m sorry if it offends you.
Re the relevance of "it's late and I'm bored", what, in the world we live in today, is wrong with having a bit of a laugh? The Circolo forum is defined as "where Italy Magazine Forum members can gather to chat about subjects that do not fall under any other category or share a joke."
Basta!

Can I be clear, the point I was making was about relevance, not a statement about what is considered funny or amusing.
I very much fear this thread is shortly going to turn into a slanging match, especially after that last post Sally.
Please can we let this go and get on with posting things that are beneficial?
Grazie!
Russ

That was not my intention Russ.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
It is a misunderstanding Russ.
As most here know I have Sally in my ignore list. I read the title “Travel Chaos London And The South East Today Monday, 2nd February.” And wondered what relevance travel chaos in London had to do with Italy. That’s why I asked “Someone tell me if they have any relevance…please!”
Which you kindly did. So it was a request not a dig.

Actually - (and not wishing to fan the embers) the "It's late.. and I'm bored" thread in the Circolo is VERY relevant to many things. This includes certain situations/threads that are current topics on the forum over the past few days and also allows people to have a bit of a giggle. I know you're dying to join in Russ - it's all very lighthearted and from memory I know you've got a great sense of humour so we hope to "see you there". I may even bring the spaceship out of storage.

No congestion charge today!!! lol

Boris? Congestion charge?? Relevance ???
to get back to the snow, we in the northwest got away lightly and I think all our airports are open as normal, however, as I type, it has started again. I would think anyone planning to fly to UK this week should pay close attention... you know how everything falls over at first sign of a snow flake...
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
I always love the UK TV coverage when it snows it's so predictable, cameras flicking between:

presenter outside closed schools (usually being heckled by children with snow balls)

frozen and p#ssed off looking presenter over a windswept motorway urging us not to travel unless it is essential, when he/she and the film crew have driven 100 miles to bring us images of something which we already know about!

someone being attacked in an interview for not doing more in advance

distance shot, zooming in of childeren on sledges on a hill with dogs in attendance around snowman generally constructed with insufficient raw materials

and of course (to stay relevant) shots of the chaos at an airport or two
How does the bloke who drives the snowplough get to work?:nah:

Drives a VW I believe...

Get those chesnuts roasting (I've only just logged on so the the 'virtual' embers are still hot for me).
I've just noticed that the 'It's late...I'm bored' thread has, to date, recieved 90 replies and 710 views. So what does relevence have to do with a successful thread?
Please don't all shout at me, but as a poor, lonely expat out here in darkest deepest rural Italy, it's my lifeline...

Hey we are off topic Perse!!!
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
We all need a good story, and this winter looks pretty endless so why not... the whole point of 'It's late...' surely is irrelevance...?
Anyway, to get back to the weather (stay on thread) we in the northwest - England not Italy have had loads now, it is looking very pretty, but I can't say for the airports....

Sorry, you should know.
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
Percy, (or are you really Per se?) please do not berate Sally for mentioning that a thread has gone off topic - she may put you on her ignore list, along with the rest of the forum. You really should know how much this upsets her by now. Consider yourself (one of the family) - oops, I mean admonished. :laughs:
