11582 Anyone driving to Sardinia in February?

Hi there

My partner and I are relocating to Cagliari on 21st February. Neither of us drive so we are flying over, travelling light. However we need a couple of computer monitors and our laserjet printer shipped over - just wondering if anyone has any space going over in the next month?

Thanks!

Thanks PAS 55, I think Andrea2 is actually driving BACK to UK though, rather than over to Sardinia! Whereabouts are you near Cagliari? We're going to start there then maybe move somewhere quieter.

It's a village/town called Villasimius about 50k away really is lovely,This is just one of the local beaches.

WOW. That looks absolutely gorgeous. I've heard good things about Villasimius. Is there any demand for TEFL teachers out that way? Our first instinct was to head to Cagliari as it's a 'big' city and I hoped there would be more opportunities, oh and my partner is a web designer so needs the internet and thought it would be easier in the city.

The teaching part I have no idea as for internet that's no problem.Starting off in Cagliari seems a good idea.I see your going over on the 21st so it look's like we may be on the same Easyjet flight.

Excellent!! Ok well we'll definitely explore all around the area before committing to somewhere. Maybe see you on the 21st!

look for the couple trying to check-in 2 mountain bikes!

Hah!! Look for the couple trying to check-in two folding bikes in enormous bags!!

Nope! We're going to try and take them over with us when we go - shipping charges (as I'm sure you know) are extortionate and Easyjet are cheap. Going to be a barrel full of laughs carrying them and all our worldly possessions!

Look's like we will have to check-in early(before you).Yep I thought the prices were cheap(16.50) as they are classed as sports eqp'Why did you choose Sardinia by the way not many Brit's there.

Not too fussed about the lack of brits really - peace and quiet is what I'm looking forward to! We've been to Sardinia a couple of times on holiday, and the last time just didn't want to leave. Just wanted to be near the sea too. We looked at a number of other places in Italy, coastal cities, and decided Cagliari would be a good place to start, maybe move elsewhere if it doesn't work out. Just want to get away from London! What made you pick Sardinia and how long have you been there?

Beaches the sea and more beaches and the lack of brits. The people are really friendly and not in a false way.At the moment ours is just a holiday home but living close to Luton airport makes it easy to be there as often as we can. We've had our house 3 years now but had been going there for about 6 years.

Sounds about right to me! Brilliant well hopefully catch you in a couple of weeks then!

Hello SuzyJ

We will be going back on the flight that you and Pas are coming in on so dont forget to take your rubish with you or Easyjet as they have often told us will be posting it back to you!!!!!

We have a home near to San Priamo about 50 mins from cagliair and in our area there is a very small contingent of English and Welsh expats most of whom are TEFL and they seem to find work quite easy.

Our end of own is very rural and peaceful with not too much English spoken and the beaches are spectacular.

Also Pas there is a small cycle shop in San vito which organises group cycle rides every Sunday and local races.

Hi JoJo! I promise I'll take my rubbish away with me!! Thanks for your post, esp. setting my mind at rest about TEFL work in smaller communities. I can't wait to explore all around the south of the Island.
