11714 Avoid paying processing charges when paying bills

We receive as many a 6 bills for such things a Rubbish Tax. (As these can be paid in 2 halves. 3 bills = 6 payment requests). That adds up to almost 7 euros in Post Office processing charges and for some reason a DD just isn't possible! Solution take all the bills to the Post Office and ask the Clerk to fill out one new, blank, payment slip for you for the total amount owed using all those numbers provided! Then go and blow the money saved on a large coffee and pastry!

Thanks for the tip, but I like the experience of queuing up 6 times in the Poste Italiane. It was described in The Dark Heart of Italy (I think) as the Italian equivalent of going to the pub as it's a great chance to have a natter with strangers, let off steam etc.

Besides which, even for a saving of Euro 6, theres's no way I'm paying for a service which has yet to be delievered:bigergrin:

And buy one for the 'postmaster' - for loss of income
