11763 Green Shield Stamps Revisited

I recently picked up my Q8 (petrol station) gift catalogue after applying for their loyalty points card.

For every litre of petrol which I buy (approx euro 1,10), I get 1 point.

The gifts include anoraks, shopping trolleys, mobile phones, food processors and even SAT NAV’s and TV’s.

Now, I am not very good with numbers, BUT if I understand this correctly, to get the 42” TV, LCD (nice) all I need is 23,900 points to get it AND pay an additional 699 Euros. So I’ll have to fill the car up with over Euro 26.000,00 and chip in with a further Euro 699.

So, I thought I'll have the little shopping trolley instead , but I still need 900 points, so 990 Euros worth of petrol and 5 euro cash!!!

:wideeyed: Bonkers!

You will be so old by the time you have collected the points, you’ll be glad of that shopping trolley so don’t knock it!

Actually, don't dismiss these 'points'. The Coop (Centro Italia is all I know) have loads of particularly unattractive 'presents', but you can 'scaricare' your points against either pretty attractive 'special offers', or simply against your groceries bill. Eurospar, where we have a loyalty card, even though we shop there about once a month (never more than 20 Euros per visit) are about to present me with a useful hand held liquidiser! Makes me feel all warm inside....

Ah wait - the presentation ceremony will last four hours. You'll have to sign 18 different documents. Present proof of age - of your parents, parents. And then, and only then will you be able to agree the month in which your gift might be delivered to a Provincia near you.

Anyone ever been to an AMC cooking utensils presentation???
