11807 Wedding in Puglia

Hello all,

Wonder if anyone can help me find a wedding planner in Puglia. I have found a great venue for the reception where everyone can stay which is near Fasano but the only quotes I have got so far from wedding planners who admit to having ridiculous surcharges because it is not their usual part of Puglia - 38Euros for a buttonhole anyone?!! :eerr:

Alternatively the hotel will handle the paperwork for just 250 Euros. I have read on here how good Italians are at weddings but this hotel does not appear to have been a venue for many (none of the usual photos on their website) and I am not sure whether I would be better off with a professional planner overseeing them.

Any help, reassurance, stories would be wonderful. Oh and btw we are looking at September of this year so keen to get everything confirmed asap!!

Thanks Pam, may I hold you to that?! I am sure there will be loads I need help on specific to Italian weddings and having some objective input would be fab!

For example, do you have Ikea type places in Italy that do cheap candles, vases etc for centrepieces or do most people hire what they need? I know I could put these together for not much money if the wedding were in UK - are the same options available in Italy?

Any top tips for me? Is it the done thing to negotiate on every price? Does everything with wedding in front double the price as it does here?!

Thanks again

Ha ha! I thought as much but don't want to screw every last euro of profit margin out of them and make enemies of the people conributing to my special day!!! :nah:

Have you tried going on the puglia posse forum?(www.pugliaposse.co.uk)
There are lots of Brits down there who might be able to help. As for IKEA, there's one in Bari, with everything you mentioned.

Rosie you are a star thank you for letting me know that news.

Checked out puglia posse but looked like I had to be a member to look at anything - or maybe I am getting confused... been looking at a lot of websites lately!!

I have but it still keeps saying I do not have permission to read the forums...

Will have another try

I'm a member - do you want me to have a look and see if you are registered as a member yet. Did you use the same username?

PS Just checked, you are on there, it says "validating". Have you received a validation email yet?

Yes all up and running on Puglia Posse now. Thanks Margaret.

I'm starting to have doubts about my venue so am now also asking for any recommendations for somewhere charming that can sleep 40 and is not a modern hotel. Can't be too expensive as we are paying for everyone's accommodation and shouldn't be any larger than about 20-25 rooms as we are looking for exclusive use.

Any tips very gratefully received. I've been googling for 3 weeks straight now!! Some advice from people who actually know the area and these venues would be invaluable!!
