In the past we have stayed at Hotel Rivamare in San Benedetto. It was good value for money, has a garden that leads directly onto the beach so is perfect if you have small children as no roads to cross to reach the beach. There is no pool, but you can borrow bicycles free of charge from the hotel reception. It was a very popular pastime to cycle along the lungamare, be revived with the odd glass of something &/or gelato and cycle back to base! Although it was on the outskirts of the town it was an easy and pleasant stroll into the centre, it was also very quiet. Nearer to the centre some of the hotels have discos or carbaret evenings so you may find it quite noisy until well into the early hours. There was no carpark, but it was easy enough to find somwhere to park nearby.
Have a look at www.rivieradellepalme.com - lists all hotels in Grottammare & San Benedetto.
Hope you find somewhere, have a good holiday.

Hi Anne2
Many thanks for your reply. This sounds great!
We are flying into Pescara for the first time in July, as we usually use Ancona. We have decided to spend three days on the coast before going inland to Falerone to see how the progress is going on our house. We should have the builders going in next week (fingers crossed!) We are staying with Pam and David at Villa Sibillini for the second half of the week so three days on the coast would be a great start.
Thank you again for your recommendation.
Kind regards
David
Can't recommend anything in the named area, however if you come up the coast a little to Pedaso, I can thoroughly recommend www.casavecchia.it having stayed there a number of times before moving over.
Hope you enjoy your stay in Le Marche.
