486 Electricity costs

Good morning.
My name is Dave & I am from the south west of England. My partner & I will be in Abruzzo next week looking for a property to call home. My partner is Italian although she has lived in the UK for 40+ years we have been to Italy a lot but this will be our first trip to Abruzzo.
I have been doing quite a lot of research into living in Italy but this is the first time I have joined a forum, it seems very informative, I have learnt a bit more.
Can I please pick your brains on Electricity?
I know that it is expensive but the following info I found seems to be too expensive

ENEL (Electricity)
This is a general guideline for the costs for electricity at 3 kWh. Billing every other month and the fixed indicative annual fee is € 51
Prices for consumption:

First 1500 kWh ---> cents/kWh ---> € 7.48
1501-2100kWh ---> cents/kWh ---> € 22.97
2101-3000kWh ---> cents/kWh ---> € 12.64
>3001 kWh ---> cents/kWh ---> € 9.12

Do I read this as €7.48 per kWh used for the first 1500 kWh used?
or am I being stupid?

Thanks for any help

Hi,

It is 7.48 cents i.e. €0.748 per KWH

Thanks Penny.
I wondered if the decimal point was in the wrong place.

On the topic of electricity, have been working on getting my house in Italy declared to be my "prima casa" through my registration in A.I.R.E. Not quite there yet...

Hallo Stribs

where about in Abruzzo are you buying? I am also buying a new land + rudere 30km south of Pescara, we should move in by the end of June!

Hi Laura.
This is our 1st serious house hunting trip. We will be based near Silva Marina just north of Pescara and will be looking at property within approx 30/40km.
We will be arriving in Pescara later this week for 12 days but no doubt this will be the first of many trips.
My partner is Italian so hopefully not too much of a language barrier.

Received word back from ENEL. If you are an Italian citizen registered in AIRE, you can contact ENEL directly for a few simple forms to fill out requesting a reduced (D2 instead of D3) rate for your electricity. Am willing to send these forms directly to anyone who would like a copy.

i've pm you with my email address, would you please email me any information you have, my mum has just got our first ENEL bill, she is italian and can't make head or tail of it, any help would be welcome.

Just checked ENEL site and my application to have electricity rate reduced from tariffe D3 to D2, based on AIRE membership, has apparently been approved. It only took about 30 days from when I first faxed them the necessary paperwork. Non c'e' male.
