I'd be interested! I'm buying a holiday home there (San Vito area) and would be very interested to know someone who can help us out with various jobs, and who speaks English as my Italian is still quite rudimentary.

That's great, we'll be over towards the end of June and I can email you our Italian mobile number if you like. In the meantime, (and I hope I'm not going against the rules here?) I can give you the link to Rosario's UK website to get an idea of the type of thing he does over here.

I would be very interested too. My house is near Ceglie Messapica and I would like some help with installing a new bathroom suite. We will be at the house from July 5th for 2 weeks, if you would like to email me.
Sounds great

Sounds great, let us know when you are setup and ready to go. We won't close on our property until August, but may need some help with bits and pieces.

we complete on our house on Thursday and I would be interested in talking to you about this. One issue you may have is knowing where to source materials, it always seems to be who you know.

Finally got chance to sit down and give an update on our new life in Puglia, it's only taken us 3 months!
We've had some good and bad experiences along with some surprising ones! Good - meeting some great people, the weather, the amount of grapes, walnuts & almonds our garden has produced!
Bad - meeting some bad people as well who think they can get away with overcharging you!,
Surprising - the speed at which ENEL got us connected (3days from the first phone call!).
Rosario's business is coming along nicely and he'd like to thank everyone who has been in touch. Alongside that he's still working on our house with help form me and our daughter who's now a dab hand with a paintbrush!
Apart from all that we're still waiting for a phone line; depending on who you speak to at the phone company, and what time of day it is, that could be
a) tomorrow (they even allocated us a number but then gave it to somebody else!),
b) within 48 hours (but they don't say when that starts)
c) not possible, you are in the campania, but we may send technicians out to have a look.
You definitely need to have patience here and be able to laugh!
Well that's all for now, back to the paintbrush

i think it's a very good idea.Bear in mind this kind of business does not imply the same kind of money that one might expect or get in the London area but everything is proportionate to the lower living costs you'll find in Puglia. As a registered business it's much the same as in the UK and thru a registered accountant and you will need one he'll be able to sort out the registration of his business, vat number, and the usual red tape.obviously will be able to purchase a truck and equipment with vat credit and tax relief etc etc.As in the uk fewer people want to do this kind of thing so you get the usual non eu people working in the black but as your husbands italian origin i'm sure you'll make out well....and it's nice to hear of someone that actually intends to work!-good luck.
