We used Apulia properties - user friendly web site - English agents do their best..local Italian agent Sansonetti. They were OK in all respects, expect perhaps getting straight answers to pointed questions
making contacts in Puglia

Hi all
I am planning to come and stay in Puglia for 3/4 months from August, with a view to researching property and employment potential as I am considering selling up in the UK and moving out there permanently early next year.
I would very much like to make contact with anyone who has already purchased property and/or anyone who is likely to be in the area during that time - to share experiences, advice, make recommendations and introductions to helpful, friendly people. I will initially be based in the Brindisi area, but can travel reasonable distances for the purpose.
I'm not sure whether I can do this through this forum - please offer any advice on how I can make contact with individuals.
Anyone up for it please?

In addition to the English agents mentioned already there is Inter Italia (http://www.interitalia.biz/index.html). They do not make a charge for their services as they sell the properties direct. Their website is excellent. You will need to make your own decision on relative prices though and on qualifications. all the other agents seem to work through established estate agents and charge about 2% over the 3% the esatate agent will charge. Don.t expect too much help from the intermediaries and take note of all the advice on this site and in the book "Buying a house in italy" by David Hampshire. We recently bought in Ostuni and are still searching for friendly/reputable contacts. It takes time. Feel free to contact privately if you wish.

Hi Rita,
I would like to reccomend the guy's at www.buyatrulli.com
We experienced a first class service from Mark and Julie, both in the UK and during accompanied viewing in Italy. Ostuni, San Michele, San Vito area.
We were accompanied to all the properties we selected from the website, plus others that had just become available that we did not know about.
They also assisted with all the formality's in the UK like obtaining Codice fiscali and finding us a local UK Notary to complete the uk formality's as well as taking through the complete process to final contract in Italy.
Even after we purchased our property, they continue to help by sourcing builders etc, also to sorting electricity / Gas connections.
Happy Hunting.
ciao rita
