Thanks for the info.
It is a pink EU licence but no one seems able to provide translation.
Asked the translator who did the work when we bought the house
and she said we shouldnt need a translation.
Think we will just turn up at a driving school.
Thanks again

go to your local autoscuola and take a couple of pasport photographs, permesso and residencia, get your EU licence recognised, it costs about 40 euro and they eventually(2-3 weeks festa's permitting) supply you with your licence adorned with a sticker showing your Italian address. keep a copy of your pink licence with you in the meantime though.

Thanks for that. Sounds simple enough even for me.
Will let you know how we get on.
i don't know if things have changed but the quickest easiest way is to go to your local driving school, they 'll organize a medical visit, eye test etc, get4 passport photos, your usual documents id card, your valid foreign driving licence and for a small fee they'll take care of it for you..couple of weeks and you'll have it.They will however retain your original licence.
When i did it i had an old fashioned licence which had to be translated etc but with the new plastic kind thats all over now.
