638 New and looking for advice

LOL, sort your list into related questions, and, ask away, I know nothing about Latina, but, welcome aboard, They're a helpful and very knowledgeable bunch on here. I would probably start by confirming whether you'd be renting or buying... AND, TEFL professionals are very important... (no, I don't teach, but, as I am originally a Geordie, English is a foreign language to me most of the time ;) )

If you already have the job then usually the school will be of help in finding you an appartment to rent,often it will be an appartment used by some previous teacher.This could be economical and at least give you a base until you find your feet.The more italian you speak the better for you and your integration it will not be a pre requisite particularly ,for teaching english.If the move is only in a years time i would suggest in an off season moment October/November a cheap flight to Roma-Ciampino and take a bus or train down to Latina to have a look around.You may meet future colleagues who could help you,view the school,see your bosses,see what you like and don't like and generally get your bearings if you wait till you have to be there you may end up with no time for looking around.Local newspapers usually have appartments to rent advertised but you'd be better off going thru aquaintances as people are always worried about renting out to people they don't know.-good luck

I'm Scottish and living in Gaeta which is not far from Latina (about half hour), you shouldn't find it too difficult to find a place to rent - get hold of Colpo D'occhio which specialises in appts to rent, the more italian you speak the better as few people in this neck of the woods have a great command of the English language
