When you went to torino, did you visit the countryside? Houses in Monferrato are not expensive yet, so your dream could very well come true!

Unfortunately not, as i was on one of these 'there & back in 48 hour' jaunts that i like to do now and then. However, i shall bear your comments in mind, should i find myself back in the Piedmonte area in the near future, thankyou.
I have been reading (enviously) all the posts on "introduce yourself" of all you good people who are living in/ moving to La Bella Italia, and all the time holding back on introducing myself properly. I,m 35, live in Norfolk (any other members from this area on here?), a big football fan, and united with the rest of you in my love of Italy. i work in the Coach travel industry, and in 1996 i undertook my first ever tour to Italy, Lake Garda to be precise. I fell in Love with the place straight away, although very touristy, it had something to it that no other place in Europe that i had visited before could match. This was to be the beginning of my love affair with this beautiful country. Upto 2000 i took coaches over to Italy on about 5 more occasions. In May 2004 i decided that i would start taking advantage of low flights by going back to Lake Garda via Milan Linate airport, and since then have made short popovers to Rome, Puglia & Turin, and shortly to be Bergamo.
Living in Italy is, at best, a pipe dream for me. One day i might make it, and i do at least have a bit of time on my side. Having the courage to make such an upheaval is the main stumbling block (along with finances!). For now, i will visit Italy as often as work commitments permit. To all you lucky people out there, keep living that dream!
Don't dream it, live it. It is possible.
