670 vacationing in Abruzzo

I am going to a town in Abruzzo in the province of Termo
its called Roseto degli Abruzzo

I know it is a small town but is anyone on here familiar with it?

It is a great town for fun and going to the beach.

Does anyone know of a good hotel there or an appartment for rent?

Also if anyone has any information about getting a job there i would appreciate it.

General chat about Italy

know the place but wonder why anyone apart from german tourists would go there... slightly unfair.... it is what you might call a strip town... in the cleanest sense i might add....

first there is the beach...mainly private...sand and bars and hotels

then there is a pedetrian path...sometimes cycle path...

then there is the main coastal road...lined again with apartment blocks and hotels/restaurants...

then there is the railway...which means everytime you go to the beach you have to find one of the little underpasses

then there begins the main town with shops etc...which is generally split in two by a busy main road..... the main coastal non motorawy road

then there are more shops... behind which are the campsites... bigger supemarkets... residential developments etc etc.... followed by finally the main autostrada

it is typical of all the resorts from pesacra to rimini

however you do eat well there... and i would have thought providing you have some italian and also some experience of hotel/bar/restaurant work you would find a job easily enough... some of these might even have accomodation...

your problem will be as most of this employment is of the non rgeistered type you will be in competition with the eastern europeans that arrive to also do the same type of work....

wages will be exceptionally low...

independent accomodation ... if you can find it is priced at around e 500 plus per week... your wages would never cover it

there are better resorts and really if you are looking for fun and sun i would suggest you stick to the main ones around rimini... more fun

rossetto is a poor persons rimini with all the disadvantages and none of the stars....

hasten to add my view only...

i much prefer tortoretto... quiter.. less built up and even though still pretty much the same sort of strip town... just a little bit better....

you will eat good sea food though... anywhere along the coast... which is about the only reason i ever go there

Well I already spent 3 weeks in Roseto last summer with a group and we were there learning italian

I don't understand your view of it really because I fell in love with the town and I didn't see it as any of the negative things u described

I just wanted to know if anyone knew of places to work or stay :)
