767 What about Bologna?

Hi everybody,

with a little regret, I've not seen words, opinions, anything about my city.
Do somebody know Bologna?

Many thanks,

Eugenio

I have been on 3 occasions and think that it is the most beautiful city in the world

A tragedy that your football team were relegated - i was gutted for you, but that said i thouroughly enjoyed the match last season at bologna when we beat you 2-1 - A cracking weekend and one we will probably re-run for next years meeting

and has my house in italy is less than 2 hours drive away then I will probably be visiting your city again this summer

We had a day in Bologna in June prior to flying home and thought it was a stunning city and would definately visit again.

I think Bologna has some fascinating architecture, food & people! I have only visited once but intend to go and stay for longer in the area. In fact we are looking at Emilia Romagna towards the Appenines as a region to move to permanently. I have a lovely Italian friend who lives in Bologna and she is extremely proud of her city.

I am thinking of visiting bologna for a few days in late october or early november. Can you tell me what the weather would be like and a nice area to stay and places to visit.
I love history, architecture , food and football.

Errm, I think we mentioned Bologna about a month ago. I've spent a short time in Bologna, it's one of my favourite cities. I like the 24 hour culture, the excellence of the food and the shops and shopping is a real pleasure.

Not only that but you have two leaning towers, not just the boring one. I have a friend Daniele who is a lawyer in Bologna and he has a really beautiful apartment as his office, with 18thC frescoes covering the walls and ceiling. I should stop off more often when we drive from England to the UK, but the location of Bologna is a little difficult, it's too far to drive to on the first day (by 7pm we get no further than Milano), and on the second day it's too early to make a stop, we've only been driving for a few hours when we get there.

Someday soon I will make another visit.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good Bologna website in English?

Thanks

Should do for a start.

I've just joined the Forum, and am planning to move to Emilia Romagna very soon. My husband and I have fallen in love with Bologna, which seems the most ideal of Italian cities. As we don't know the rest of the region, we are planning to go out again and take a look at Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara, etc. We don't drive, so need somewhere with good transport links, and we're real city people, not country types. We would be very grateful for any advice you have on areas of Bologna to look for a property in (or areas to avoid) and whether a smaller city might be a good idea. If we end up buying in Bologna, I will be absolutely delighted. Best wishes. Marie
