802 Electric Coffee Makers

Can anyone tell me if electric coffee makers purchased in Italy will work in England. Every year I think I will chance it and again am thinking about it this year but as it is quite a lot of money perhaps I should be sure. Any advice? :)

Just buy a nesspresso machine and get perfect expresso or cappacino everytime

Expensive but the best purchase i have made in many a year

Yes it will, you will just need to buy an adaptor for the plug. Check the fuse on the adaptor as a coffee machine might need quite a bit of power (it will be written in the specs) and you need a matching adaptor if not the plugh will melt the adaptor. I hope it makes sense to you, it is a bit like engineering for dummies, but I am afraid my technical knoledge does not go any further!

Do not change the plug of the machine itself, as that would break the warranty.

Another thing. Check which espresso machine you would like to buy before hand, as it might be sold in the uk , and would solve many problems...
It is important to have a warranty and be able to use it!

Yes, no problems. The specifications for electrical appliances are harmonised across Europe so anythign bought in any European country will work safely on the power supply in any other country.

However since the politicians could not agree on a standard plug, you will need to change the plug *and* also be aware of how to safely wire a plug in the UK. 99.99999999% of all Brits can't do it properly, there's barely anyone knows how to trim the wires to the correct length or how to use a cord grip.

We bought a fully automatic Saeco "Vienna" coffee maker and brought it back to the UK. It cost EUR 240 but they sell for £600 in the UK, well worth the saving. My friend who is a coffee nutcase rates the Saeco machines as the best espresso machines available. Very easy to use, fill up the water tank, put beans into the container, dial in the size of coffee from ristretto to lungo, press the button, get coffee.
