790 sicily weather which region

we will be visiting sicily later this year to look for a holiday home that will in about two years become our permanent home, as sicily is a large island can anyone tell us which regions have lower humidity than others. we will be looking for coastal areas with views of the sea but hope to be away from the crowds maybe in hills or half way up a mountain, can anyone help with letting us know of this type of terrain and weather ie breezes humidity heat etc.

as you may know Sicily is very hot especially in summer.
this website as a description of weather per areas http://www.bestofsicily.com/weather.htm and on this other one http://www.italy-weather-and-maps.com/weather/AG/ you can check on real time.
For personal experience in Catania and going south towards Syracuse it is very hot (too much) while if you go north towards Messina a almost never-ending breeze make the heat less killer. This is summer, when temperatures can rise up to 45degres.
In winter it is lovely everywhere.
PS: the different with north Europe regions is that even in winter, when the sun came out from the clouds, it still got power to warm up bones.
hope this is helpful

Request to the forum 'god', really.......

Can some of these areas get posted as 'stickies' as there are a number of queries about weather, flights/flight prices, car hire etc... and it might be useful to post the useful website links to the forum as a permanent message.

It might help everyone?

I agree with Tuscanhills.

Taking it a step further though.............(I'm at it now, all these dots!! :D ), it would be good to have some sort of archive system for certain topics.

At the moment I print off threads that I believe will be useful in the future when finally relocating to Italy i.e utility issues, schooling, car issues, estate agents, earthquakes, horse meat?? etc., and file them for reference.

It would save lots of paper and probably repeated threads, but it could be an admin nightmare.

Something to think about though.

hehehehe.............

The dots make great sense when I'm trying, but I have to confess do look dreadful when I'm reading!

Maybe the dots are nothing more than my brain ticking over? The longer the dots, the more need for thought.........then again, mybe not
