935 Castorama

After receiving a couple of quotes to finish the villa off, which we have purchased in San Vito in Puglia, we have decided, as finances are tight, to do it ourselves (Neal is a builder by trade anyway). I have just been looking at the Castorama catalogue on their web site to get a feel of the cost of boilers, radiators, bathroom suits, kitchens etc and either I'm too thick and can't see for looking but can't find a page to request a catalogue.

Neal will be going over for three weeks in October to start some of the work and we will be joining him for the last two weeks to help out. He will be going to Castorama as soon as he gets there to get some of the thing we need but lets face it ladies, have you ever trusted your man to go shopping alone with just a description of the thing you want. I know if I say I want a simple shaker style kitchen in cream, I will get there and will find a dark oak one waiting to be fitted.

Can anybody help out, either point me in the right direction on the internet, or perhaps somebody has been recently been and has a copy tucked in the bottom of thier suitcase. Is anybody going to Italy soon and intended visiting Castorama and can get an extra copy and post it to me when they get home. (I'll refund the p&p obviously) :p

Thanks everybody.

Ciao Neal's mrs
Don't worry about Castorama, theres more to Kitchens than Castorama, you are not far from Francavilla Fontana, If you take the exit for central comercial after the Villa Castelli exit on the way to Taranto E90. Head towards Francovilla & you will find Mobli Boulevard (that's what i call it). You will find a lot more choice & better prices, due to the competion in the area. You will find Mercatone uno, Magri Casa & lots more, Its just like shopping in the uk.

Ciao

Mark (Julies hubby)

Thanks Mark,

I shall busy myself browsing round there while Neal is up to his elbows in muck.

Thanks

Paula

OTOH Castorama is extremely cheap for Pozzi Ginori bathrooms, about EUR 250 for a complete suite last time I looked.

That's the sort of thing I'm looking for Steve, not very expensive, practical and white. The secret is to plush it up with nice tiles and fittings etc. The catalogue will enable me to sus out what to sourse from there and what to look elsewhere for. Part of my husbands firm does fit kitchens but we don't really want to start taking everything with us when we could sourse the same without the cost of hiring a van.

Thanks again

I found that Castorama has an even cheaper bathroom suite from Pozzi Ginori at EUR 150. It's very basic white, my wife wants the type of units that hang from the wall, the cheap ones have pedestals so not to her liking. Well made though.

There's a PDF file with photographs and prices here:

And taps are here:

Those wall hung fittings are very stylish, BUT, a couple of friends were in one heck of a panic recently when a mate of theirs from the states (300lbs.) was due to arrive, I suppose paying for a local agriturismo was cheaper than replacing the damage... :D

Hmm I'll have to mention that to herindoors, because one of our friends is nicknamed "huge" for obvious reasons.

If your still looking for a catalogue, I've got one and French Briko Depot ones - usefull if your driving over as it's cheaper that Castorama

Thanks, got a catalogue through the post actually but thanks anyway. :p
