1001 Shower in attic

Sorry its me again.
I intend installing a bathroom with a shower in the attic, there is a hot water system in the house but I don't have details.
An electric shower is out of the question assuming a 3Kw supply.
I do know that you can have a pumped system (in England) as long as the cold water supply tank is about 230mm above the showerhead (less I believe in some cases). Is there a similar system in Italy or have they got a better way of doing it? No doubt some of you have overcome this problem so any advice would be gratefully received.

nOW,when i was v.young in the uk i remember always being told not to drink from the hot tap( which one automatically did wondering why..)later on i discovered it was due to the fact that the header tank a nasty squallid zinc bin in which squirrels usually died was the "source".Fortunately here in Italy the "tank" ( a closed 5000 liter tank in 18/18 stainless steel for foodstuffs) is in the basement and it supplies all the taps/showers/baths even in the attic
using a "autoclave" pump system,works perfectly shower pressure is there even if lots of people are showering at the same time etc.Just tell your plumber you want an autoclave.

What system supplies your hot water/central heating at present?

We have an instantaneuous boiler that works on mains pressure - so fitting a shower in an attic wouldn't necessarily be a problem if the pressure is OK.

If you have the wrong type of heating - you could always fit a small instantaneous gas [mains pressure] heater just for the shower

It isn't possible to give you good advice without knowing your system, BUT,what you propose is definitely possible over here.

Before you leave the UK see if you can get hold of a decent manual, I have the old readers digest one, they can be invaluable for pointing at when explaining things to Italian plumbers, if your Italian is as foul as mine that is. :o

I've got a couple of good DIY books which I will bring with if only for the pictures. I think my main problem will be frustration that I cannot do what I want to do, I appreciate the need for planning permission and the Italian equivalent of building control especially as a safety issue but to sit there drinking wine and enjoying the weather whilst someone else is working would upset me.
Seriously though it may be possible persuade the geometra to let me do some of the things I want to do.
