Your questions and concerns are what keeps me awake at night for a few minutes at least as I can imagine having the same problems when we relocate.
Sincere best of luck.

I'll let you know how i get on....wish it was just a case of signing up with the utilities companies, getting the bill and paying it ( or not ).
Oh well....this is Italy ...just keeping us on our toes !!!!

For the electric, go to ENEL and see if they have an account listed in your name. If not in the name of your estate agent. If worse comes to worse push the estate agaent for more information (they should have given you the contract) Once you get residency (from the comune, not your PdiS from the questura), make sure you go back to the utilty companies and have them lower your rate!
For the phone, go online to www.187.it and sign up for a new online acocount. You will need to give the codice fiscale and name of the person whose name is on the account. From here you can see your bills.
Now that I think of it, you can do the same with enel, without an address, just with the name and CF.
For ICI and rubbish tax, go to the comune in Sept. You are already late for ICI but most comune send out the rubbish tax around September anyway so you should be fine.

Lyn,
Same as us, have bought a villa but have absolutly no idea what the address it.
Agents have dealt with the electric and the ICI has already been paid by the previous owner. God knows what to do next.
Neal picks up the deads next week at the agents so we may know then.

ciao again, you will need to have a client number to pay or check you bill if you have this then just register on the www.enel.it web site and follow the instructions there to pay or check your bill. ciao marco
Yes you do need a tv licence. Believe it or not, the tv licence is actually linked to the tv and not to the address so you can just call the RAI and ask details about how to pay the Canone.
But it is august now, and Italy is on vacation. Start worrying in september!!!!
