Maria,
start from the Cantina Sociale of the Village where you live. They will have all the answers to your questions.
What's a Cantina Sociale?
exist all over the country.they are usually consortiums or more often cooperatives some quite big who buy off the grapes from their " soci" (cooperative members-farmers) and produce local wines.Often these places will sell you demi johns of unbottled wine which you take to get filled up etc at very reasonable prices.A lot of cantina sociale are very well run with experts on viticoltura controlling the vinyards of members etc etc.
We've abandoned the hazelnuts (for the time being), scrapped the agriturismo and campsite and look likely to plant vines. I know I have to buy a permit to plant vines. Does anyone know who from? The property is situated in the Langhe and Dolcetto di Dogliani DOC regions.
Also, does anyone know of any excellent consultant viticulturists, whose talents are yet undiscovered and are consequently very cheap!?

hi Maria Lucia, thats a good idea. You're right to consult an agronomo specialized in the field. If you can get a good relation with some local wine producer you might even be able to get their agronomo to do a sopraluogo of the place where you plan to make the vinyard, and maybe as a favour or little more. The area produces fantastic wines. It's quite an operation to set up a new vinyard but if the "place" justifies it ,it could be really worth it.
i'm already waiting to taste the first Dolcetto from your vigna....good luck.
just a thought you could even try contacting some local "istituto " which has an agricutural faculty if the "professore" could be convinced to use your site as a practical field project for his students.......
