1046 Horse Racing in Puglia?

We live just a stone throw from Haydock Park Racecourse and have spent a wonderful (and profitable) afternoon today with the family having fun. Relocating to Puglia next summer and would like to carry on our fun afternoon's watching the horses racing round the track.

Any recomended tracks in the area if any.

Thanks

Paula

It's gone awfully, awfully quiet in here, well, can't help ref Puglia, but, have a Gallopper track a couple of miles away, the sort you're used to, and a Trotting track about 10 miles away in t'other direction, so, looks like I may be errm, prepping the guest rooms ???

Hi Paula,

I know when we were viewing properties with an Italian agent inthe area, we got on to the subject of horses and he said that he used to race but I think it may have been more cross country than actual racing. May be worth finding out more.

haven't seen a horse yet, let alone a racecourse...in fact Puglia seems devoid of animals...saw 2 cows and 3 goats the other day...apart from that no animals except dogs and cats !!!! :( ooh and tiny lizards !!

Supposed to be a big sheep farming part of the country that. According to one of my books sheep used to be herded down there from Abruzzo - the old droving tracks are now popular hiking trails.

So, you haven't seen any of the REALLY BIG lizards yet...the ones that creep up on you when you aren't looking, then, they quietly launch themselves into the air annnnnnnnnnnnnnn ;)
