1078 Music?

Any idea where the best place online (i'm UK based for delivery purposes) to buy Italian music CD's? Im after a couple of Mario Venuti albums at the moment and Amazon etc are a bit pricey and havea small selection. I recently bought last yeas Festival Bar CD from Amazon but there was a large lead time and it was expensive.

From memory CD's in Italy aren't all that cheap, so I don't want to wait till I next go. Anyone know any well-priced, reliable online retailers that are good for music?

I'd welcome a few suggestions of Italian music; we visited the Lucca Summer festival & (to our shame) overlooked the Italian artists. It seems a real shame.

We listen to the radio but have found that the artist names are not always mentioned (or we just miss them!)

Is there a Top 40 I can acquaint myself with? Can anyone recommend any particular artists?

It depends very much on what type of music you're after Tuscanhills. Do you like pop, rock, classical etc? I must confess that i've been somewhat submersed into Italian popular music by my wife; whenever we go to the family home the TV - which is ALWAYS on - is always tuned to various music stations. If you do like pop music the Festival Bar CD's are a good place to start, although they do feature alot of non-italian music. That said, this represents what (generally younger) people are listening to so is what is culturally pertinent. Have a look at : http://festivalbar.leonardo.it/compilation/

There is infact a Top of the Pops Italy (on Sunday, I think but i can't remember), which has the same name as the UK version. Other might know which channel it's on.

If you like a Jazzier sound then Paolo Conte would be a good bet. Let me know what kind of things you like, what style and UK artists and maybe we can make an Italian match!

There are many websites who sell music CD's but I always listen to online music because I don't have enough time to listen the music. Well, If anyone wants writing help I have a website from one where friend of mine took writing help and If you have any doubt then you can check her comment is here and she recommend this website to everyone who needs writing help. I also find this website very useful.

I got some cds on E-bay, don't know about up to date stuff tho'...cheap tho' :)

Cheers, guys

The CD's look pretty good Janie, thanks. Not that expensive (even with postage), so I may well buy something with them and see how it goes. Will report back if it's worth recommending or otherwise.

Thanks for the recommendation alex and lyn. I usually use ebay to get Italian DVD's. It's good for both fairlyh modern and older, classic films. Must admit - and i'm not sure why - I haven't looked for DVD's on their yet, but will certainly give it a go.

Hi Janie

As a follow up to this, when I double checked the postage I decided not to order my Mario Venuti CD. Postage comes in at a whopping £7.55 to the UK. Mind you the site does serve as a useful way to identify what you want and then buy via, for example, Amazon (in this case). Amazon's problem with Italian CD's has always been a real lack of information i.e. no cover picture or track details. However by using internetbookshop.it it's possible to cross-reference and get the right thing.

Thanks for the link, will be checking it in the future for this very purpose.
