1119 E-Bay UK

I've tried to register with E-bay UK as I want to buy English language DVDs/Videos/Cds and Books but everytime I put my Italian address in, it takes me to the Italian site which obviously is no good for stuff I am looking for.
I sent them an E-mail ( UK Site) and have had a reply from the Italian Site !!! which rather defeats the object of my query which is asking if I can register on Uk site with Italian address as i want to use E-Bay.co.uk ! Not E-bay.it

Has anyone else got round this ???
I used E-bay a lot in the Uk but need to re-register as all info now different.

 I ended up being reduced to sarcasm, every time you complain they write back advising you to contact a different part of their operation, LOL, the PayPal set up is even stupider, and they keep trying to take money from my credit card... Honestly, aaarrrgghh and all I wanted was a "George W Bush Top Gun figure" (he looks trrible cute in his lil flyin jacket, shouting mission accomplished)

You can register and then go to the UK site and purchase or just go to the Italian one and search for all countries not only Italy. I do it all the time without a problem. So complete the registration and then check out .co.uk

Great Crisitna, just to clarify, you registerd on Italian site but could still bid on Uk site ?
Will definately try that.

George, are you talking about uk or italy site ?

Originally tried to register with UK site, then they decided I had to be on Italian site and should only be dealt with in Italian, bad site design, surprised really given the size of their operation after about 15 mails they decided I was possibly right, but by that time GW had been sold...*sobs*

Hi

I've got a vague feeling that you have to register at the site local to your country of domicile for variuos legal and tax reasons. Once you've registered you can then shop where you like. I have bought from a number of local sites with no problems or you can just search worldwide.

I found a big problem with the Italian site is that it doesn't list agricultural equipment like the UK site does. It's probably not important for everyone here, but several of us have land and need things like tractors spares, flails, cultivators etc.

Ebay UK have featured a lot of essential farm equipment at reasonable prices and I'm surprised that the Italian site doesn't do the same.

Steve don't you think there will be so much more equipment about in the UK because of the failed farms... Incidentally, do you still have to pay the transfer tax when buying tractors ?
