1137 Festa San Gennaro - Napoli

Having decided to split my next Rome visit with atrek down to Naples I have purchased the obligatory guidebook and have discovered to my horror the following "Naples shuts down entirely on 19 September, the feast of the city's patron saint, San Gennaro.". The day I arrive!!! I have emailed the B&B for advice but don't expect to get back a reply such as "Yes, nothing's open and you and your two children will just have to sit in your room quietly starving to death."

Does anybody have inside information? Should I arrive loaded with provisions? If I bring enough could I make a small fortune supplying hungry tourists who arrived the same day without reading the guide book?

I was there over the Easter break, the public transport was not running, but many of the shops and the Archeological Museum were open as usual. Plus, if worst come so worst, the McDonalds at the train station will be open.

Unless they need the 4 days afterwards to recover from the festa!
