[QUOTE=KATHY THOMSON]Hello new member! We're new too and have just bought a cottage near San Vito. We're in the process of replacing most of the furniture and having difficulty with finding this. Emmezeta is too tacky and the designer shops too expensive. Are there any good in betweens??
We too would like to purchase another place to renovate before renting out. This will be our next adventure! (Besides learning how to harvest olives and finding recipes for almond mountains!).
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Kathy
your right about Emmezeta, we got the kids beds from there when we first bought the villa, but I tend to keep away now. We have not really got round to buying to much else yet, a few bit in Ostuni town, but just from a glance the prices are a bit high.
So if do find somewhere I would like to know

Dear Vic,
We've only just bought our property but we have found a very good seamstress in San Vito who is, as we speak, making up curtains, cushion covers etc. for me. The same lady sells iron beds in a variety of colours all at a reasonable price (around 300 euros) mattress extra. She's going to help us with sofas etc when we go back in october.
For all main household items (crockery cutlery etc)I've used the homestore next to Auchan in Mesagne and Auchan itself for kitchenware.
If you find anywhere else, please let me know - we're still looking for bedside tables, a dresser, dressing table etc, plus decent garden furniture which isn't plastic!
Regards
Kathy
