Any advice from anyone with experience of getting rid of Hornets nests?
Have got a nest in the doorway of outbuilding. The little xxxx@@***!!!! pests attack in teams of three or four you don't see em you just feel three or four pin pricks. They've gotta go ( a nice satisfying way would be dynamite but I need the building!)

We had some in our village, and the fire dept. dealt with them, but don't know if that's the norm?

Poor Jeff was stung once and ended up in bed for 24 hours, but he is sensitive to stings :(

I was advised that hornets need the Fire Dept to deal with them (or is that the other way around?!?!)

Get up very early in the morning - the little blighters are still sleepy. Spray at least half a can ful of Hornet posion (readily available from the GSsupermarket in San Vito) at the nest from a distance of three-foure feet. Then stand by with fly swat. When they emerge - very groggy and staggering around, go in for the kill - attack quicklly and efficiently and leave no whol hornet standing!!) If necessary, repeat the process. Destroy the nest by battering it to bits.

What a sense of achievement it gave us!!

Try to beath in as little of the poison as possible when and after you spray it, burn the nest after you've battered it, and do be careful, they bleedin' well HURT when they're annoyed, and they do know all about Teamwork...
