Italian police on Tuesday arrested eight rogue cops accused of stealing from crime scenes.
The eight members of Milan's Flying Squad stole an unspecified amount of money and valuables from burglarised properties in the northern Italian city, police said.
Amid suspicions and rumours of pilfering and corruption, the eight were transferred to six cities in Piedmont and Veneto while investigations went ahead.
They were arrested only after prosecutors managed to break through "a wall of intimidation" they had created, police said.
The arrests came a day after eight Carabinieri were arrested in Milan on suspicion of extortion, embezzlement and other crimes.
Police authorities said the two cases were unrelated.
