11088 CELI or CILS

Just wondering if anyone out there has ever done either the CILS Italian exam (affiliated with University of Siena) or the CELI Italian exam (affiliated with University of Perugia). Does anyone know which one is more recognized?
Grazie!

Hi Johnny,
both certifications are valid and are officially recognized by the Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca.
through these exams you gain access to universities in Italy, to follow a degree course. In particular, the CELI is considered more advanced and actually gives you the chance to enter a course that will qualify you to eventually teach Italian
Plus the University of Perugia seems to have relations with Italian Culture Institutes abroad.

Your choice should depend on what you wish to get by these certifications. As Italian I can tell you that Perugia is considered one of the best linguistic centres in Italy.
Anyway, more information here:
