11074 Starlings over Rome

Just heard about this on Radio 4's Today programme and have found a YouTube video!

Looks amazing, but unlike bears, these FIVE MILLION starlings are not pooping in the woods!!!!! The Italian authorities are trying to get rid of the birds by playing through loud-hailers the sounds of distressed starlings!!!! In the radio interview a council worker in Rome said the birds shoud move on after 3 days, so watch out they may be coming to a town near you... It was a flock of these little darlings that made a mess of a Ryanair plane recently; so not only the poo problem to worry about!

was there any more information about that after the initial event- do we know if Ciampino is making more of an effort to keep the birds away?
