11186 Where's My Present???

I have just received an e-mail. I'm getting really hopping mad at Royal Mail and their Customer Services. Three weeks ago it was my birthday, and a Special Delivery/Signed For packet was sent from France. Unfortunately I wasn't in and a card was left for me to organise redelivery which I did over The Internet and to my local Post Office on a set date by me.

When I got there no packet, and for the last three weeks I've been corresponding with first Customer Services then one level up, The Postal Services Panel. All I've been told to date is that the manager of the local Post Office has been contacted about this for future similar events. Still no explanation where my present is and when I can have it.

This and my Christmas presents to France not arriving last year, makes be so reluctant to use Royal Mail.

Thanks for the loan of your soap box Carole.

Dear Ms Donaldson

Thank you for your further email from which I am sorry to hear that you are
experiencing problems with our redelivery service.

On receipt of your (note tutti subsequent) email, I contacted the Delivery Office Manager for enquiries to be made. Unfortunately, despite a thorough search being made, there is no trace of your item in the Delivery Office and for this, I
really cannot apologise enough.

If your item has still not been delivered or collected, may I respectfully
suggest that you contact the sender to see if it has been returned to them.
If this is not the case however, please ask the sender to complete one of
our P58 Lost, Damaged or Delayed mail forms. These forms are available
from all Post Office® branches or alternatively, they may wish to print one
out from our website by clicking on the following link:

Please ask the sender to enclose their original Certificate of Posting and
any relevant documentation relating to their claim before they send the
form to us. Upon receipt, we will investigate the loss and then reply to
them as soon as our enquiries are complete.

Thank you for contacting me about this matter and although unfavourable, I
do hope you will find my reply both helpful and informative. Please accept
my apologies once again and if I can be of any more help, please let me
know quoting reference number xxxxxxxxxxx.

With regards
