We haven't paid ours yet and probably wont till next year so guess we'll be in for a late payment fine. Still haven't got a clue how to go about it though!
We're the same

The previous owner paid in June for this year so we'll start to panic about March next.

My friend Lucia can help you with this - it was she that first told me such a thing existed!
You can contact her at info@itarchouse.it if you're interested. She knows how to do the calculations to arrive at the figures etc.

Cristinas' webpage is excellent for the calculation ( especially when she helps an idiot like me !!!!! )....have now sorted it all and popped along to the Post ofiice on Friday afternoon to pay it....i asked for the forms and the guy spent about 15 minutes searching ( and consulted 2 collegues) he informed me that he had no forms as it wasn't the time to pay !
Not really sure what to do now as we owe 2 months ( May and June) and I had wanted to pay up till December 2005 to get it out of the way.
Any suggestions ??????

I think it's payable twice a year in June and December and that's the only time you can pay it.....don't quote me on that though as I might be talking complete rubbish..

Personally I would just pay the whole thing in December. If not, you should ask the comune if you can pay online (I did it this way this year).

Try popping into your Commune - they should have the forms there

Will pop into Commune and ask , but bascially they told me that they don't deal with ICI (going by help I have received I think they must be the only Commune in Italy who don't !!!...) and we had to go to the Polizia Minicipiale to fill the forms in and get registered. They , reluctently, helped me fill the form in and stamped it etc . , and also did the Rifiuto and said a bill would be sent for that , then told me to go home and calculate the ICI and pay it !!! I just wanted to give them my money !!!! :o
Calculating was fine as Crisitna helped me enourmously ...just can't pay it !!!!!
Advise for anyone just about to buy...get your agent to sort out first payment and registration...after that it will be a doddle. Also get them to check when the previous owner had paid it to. (apparantly ours should have paid up till June but didn't which would have saved us no end of hassle !...thanks mate !!!)

Thats interesting, we posed this question hypothetically to our "agent" She said that it didn't matter because it would be the previous owners problem not ours. So did you have to pay the back pay as well or did it just cause confusion and delay because they hadn't payed? This is all so frustrating if only we could get direct contact with our vendor, there would be loads of things we could sort out!
Cheers :)

I like the idea of paying online. But we have to get our bank account enabled for this or change bank accounts. How many of the bills and taxes associated with owning a property in Italy (Puglia) can you pay this way?

You are responsible for ICI from the month (rounded off) you take over the ownership. If for example, you finalized the purchase on April 15th, the previous owner would have to pay through the end of April, you would pay from the begining of May. If you do not have any way to contact the venodr to see if perchance they paid through the end of the period instead (some do this) just pay from the time you owned the property. If any questions arise and you have to go show proof, bring your payment receipts and your purchase contract.

As for what you can pay online, most things these days it seems. Phone, electric, ICI, rubbish (in some areas), car tax, etc.
Can't believe I've had no response !!!!! :o
