ciao a tutti
i am sure this question has been asked before but i cant find the thread for it so here goes.
has anybody taken over to italy a gas/lpg cooker from the uk, does this cooker need to be modified in any way to use bombola's? is lpg readily available in italy if so any ideas where you get it from? if not do i need a conversion kit for the cooker to use butane/propane etc. thanks ciao marco
Hi Marco,
LPG Gas cylinders are readily available from most hardware stores in Italy.
If you are going to take your natural gas cooker from the UK then you will need to check with the manufacturers if they do a LPG conversion kit. This is a set of jets one set for Propane and one for Butane. Sometimes the cooker will have come with these in the first place.
As far as I am aware the cylinders in Italy are normally butane.
The other option depending on where you are planning on putting the cylinder is to buy one of the range style cookers in Italy which have a storage cuboard built in to hold the cylinder. We brought ours from Unieuro for about 250 Euro's and that wasn't the cheapest they had.
Hope that helps.
