1300 kitchen equipment

Hello,

I was just wondering if there were any kitchen (better yet used restaurant) supply businesses in the ascoli piceno provence? I can't bring any of my own things like food processors and panini grill with me because they are on a different electrical system and the adaptors are hard on the equipment.

Anyone know of a place for me to check out?

Thank you!
Dee

You could try ebay.it I have seen some catering equipment advertised when looking for ordinary kitchen stuff. Otherwise the local free ads paper. If you know what it's called it probably has an online version

Great Idea, ebay Italy :) Thanks!

I use ebay all the time here in California, but some items just cost too much when you add shipping. If I could find a used restaurant supply place I could really get some good heavy duty equipment without paying all that shipping, but ebay Italy is a wonderful idea in a pinch!

Don't get too excited - Ebay is still quite a new concept in Italy and there is not nearly as much stuff on there as there is in other countries, expecially the US, but hey give it a go and good luck!

I really appreciate your help. I will continue to do my own research on this, but I figured it was worth a try to see if there was anything like this in the area. I'm sure it will all work out. I might be able to find something over here with the correct electrical set up. Couldn't you see me trying to get a huge food processor on an airplane? I suppose if the chopping blades are all wrapped up and the whole thing is all boxed up, it might be ok.

If you go to Zanussi Professional you can go through their catalog for restaurant supplies. I bought my stove and oven through them and the price was very reasonable as having a professional stove is not the latest fashion accessory here like it is in CA (I come from San Francisco so remember the prices well).

I also have a list of the better items that you can buy in regular stores on my site. http://www.expatsinitaly.com/living/appliances.htm

Let me know if I can be of any other help.

Cristina, thank you sooooooo much!

When I read your message, I was just thrilled! You have saved me so much time and energy with this information! I can only hope that sometime I can help you with something that I may know about.

Please PM me with your story of San Francisco (I lived in Santa Rosa in the 1970's and got my directing degree from the American Conservatory Theater
in San Francisco!) to Italy, or maybe I can read about it all on your website?

Best wishes and looking forward to hearing back from you!

J&D, when you're over next, pop up to Recanati, to a firm called "Capita" they supply the catering trade, I know they have the knives etc., I wasn't looking for equipment, but it is worth the trip anyway the area is beautiful, and if you go on a Thursday there is a market in Porto Recanati in the morning.
AND, if you buy the 57 Chevy sofa.... Oooohhh  ;)

Excellent! Thanks again George :)

I'll definitely check all that out! Most people are interested in things like heat, water, electricity and taxes... and here I am asking about kitchen equipment.
Cooking is a big part of my life, I love it! I love the chemistry of cooking, the creativity it gives me as an artist, and the joy that it brings my family and friends. I can't wait to get my hands on the local produce, meats, cheeses, wines, oils, mushrooms, nuts, etc.......... Oh goody, goody! :D

Don't worry about that couch, but if it was a 59 Cadillac....Mr. John  would give you a run for your money!
