Dear can you also please reply to the following thread? I really need that.

http://www.italymag.co.uk/forums/cost-living-utility-services/11108-cost-estimation-living-italy-one-week.html

The link here was also posted a few days ago and I reported it then as possible spam.

Dear I have programme to come to Italy next month. This is because I sign up to this forum and posted some new threads.

As I'm sure you realise, I was referring to Jawad's signature link.

A pattern of this new member's posts is obvious: one line questions or comments and a hyperlink which has nothing to do with Italy in the signature. My limited understanding is that people do get paid for each occurrence of such a link they can get on a forum such as this. If you think Jawad is genuine, that's your call to make as a moderator, but we have seen a lot of similar nonsense here of late.

Suggestion: tell Jawad to remove his signature link for two weeks and let's see how many more posts we get in the meantime.

Of course, the fact that he's posting a link to a currently broken website means he may well be wasting his or her own time.

Dear I have programme to come to Italy next month. This is because I sign up to this forum and posted some new threads. Everyone is very much concerned about signatures. If it is a problem I can delete that. No Problem at all. That is my site which is under construction.

Don't listen to these people Jawad, they are cynics. The most famous food in Italy is Chicken Tikka Masala with a side order of Vindaloo.

McDonald's.
Well the one in Piazza Sant'Oronzo in Lecce was always packed when I was there.
Oh, and I would love to be able to find an Indian restaurant in my area! :winki:

It seems I owe you an apology. I am sorry for being the cynical sod I am and assuming you were just another one-day wonder who dropped in here to earn a rupee or two by posting advertising links.

I hope your trip to Italy goes well. If I may, I'd suggest you be a bit more specific about your questions if you'd like useful answers. For example, asking how much it costs to visit Italy is rather like asking how much it costs to go to a supermarket: on such a trip, one can buy a single carrot or enough food to feed a family of ten for a month.

Al

I feel that most people hasn't given Jawad a fair crack of the whip; he's asked a fair question, so stop the petty sniping, snide remarks about curry & help the fella, eh?

Your behavior and comments are not becoming.....I've even had comments raising concern that Jawad has posted too many comments in a row from someone who's definitely either the pot or the kettle; I can't decide which. Sort yourselves out &, in the proper spirit of the forum, help the chap, please.

Jawad, you will find plenty of useful information about food in Italy if you have a look through the threads in the "Food and Drink" section of this forum. Every region in Italy has its own cuisine although pasta is the main staple. But there are also some other fantastic dishes that do not contain pasta.
....I will consider this too on my visit to Italy next month.
Where are you visiting in Italy, Jawad?

Dear I really love Chicken Tikka Masala. I am glad I can have there when I visit.

Thanks dear. I have not a programme of shopping as much there. I am just interest to know the cost of hotel.
Where are you visiting in Italy, Jawad?
Thanks for asking. I am visting Bologna.

Bologna is a beautiful city, a bit on the expensive side. And the food is superb.

Thanks Dear. I am visting through my company so everything will be paid by them. just wanna know what will cost so that I can give an estimate.

I find this thread intriguing, but will not be replyig to it (directly!!):eerr:
..... just wanna know what will cost so that I can give an estimate.
I'm not sure on the prices but if you check Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor, then they will have a lot of accommodation listed, prices & advice from "real" people who have stayed at the hotels, so you can be sure of impartial advice.

Bologna is the city which gave its name to (arguably!) the most famous Italian dish - spaghetti alla bolognese. It is in Emilia Romagna, (which is the region of Italy which claims to be the best region for food), and it is where Parmesan cheese is made - probably the most famous Italian ingredient used in cooking. Do look at the tripadvisor site for recommendations at all price levels for hotels in Bologna, and then argue the hotel down to a better price!

Apologies to all for resurecting this thread, but I'm away from home and only just now read this comment which largely seems squarely aimed at me.

If that is so, I am very annoyed at having my apology called "unbecoming" and characterised as snide, petty sniping and not in the best traditions of this forum. For that matter, I question whether your comment, Tuscanhills, about pots and kettles meets the standards of language and behavour which becomes a moderator.

As for me, I apologised for apparently misinterpreting Jawad's motivations. For being big enough to admit publically that I seemed to have got it wrong, I was called petty and slapped on the wrist. I guess this was in the best traditions of this forum?

The only reason this issue arose is because I have previously made it a habit to post a brief message in a thread saying that I'd done so when I've reported what I thought was a bad post. I did so because I believed that might make life easier for the moderators since it would hopefully prevent them being bothered by others reporting the same crap. In future, I won't waste my time even reporting rubbish posts.

In fact, one of the nice things about being away from home for a while and without one's normal internet connection is that it makes you consider just how much time you normally waste doing pointless, time-wasting things just because you've fallen into the habit of visting certain sites. I think it's time for an early New Year's resolution...

Al

For what it's worth Al, I don't think Tusk was having a direct poke at you - he's not brave enough - and everyone knows you're not a snide sniper!

The greatest thing about New Year's resolutions is that they are (thankfully) usually broken, cast away and long forgotten by Jan 2nd.
