Also, seem to be a few phishing emails coming through just recently, last week one purporting to be from Barclays with an attachment and mentioning update your details from Paypal. Thismorning another from Abbey saying update details as well .......

I had LLoyds, Natwest and Barclays in one week - don't bank with any of them and deleted immediately.

I have had (over three months) UPS e-mails. I just assumed they were dodgy (because I hadn't any anticipation of a UPS delivery) and deleted them.
BUT, despite the fact that I run pretty 'state of the art' AV programs, these purportedly UPS messages were flagged as merely 'suspect'.

Anyway, my advice: Please, do not let your e-mail handling program invoke a 'preview' page. All you have to do is click on the top-line 'View' choice, and uncheck the (default) option of 'view preview'. Then 'invoke' common sense - if you have not got a UPS parcel expected, delete anything coming from UPS. You know it makes sense.

One of the best things to do Lorraine, is go to the banks "real" site, type in "phishing" in the search box and forward the email to the address they give. That might help stop this problem in the long term.

Just something else, if you are unsure about these scams. Just check the see latest scams full list in the main page.

There is never a perfect answer but we swear by Norton anti virus protection and what ever it takes, we pay their fee. (One fee protects 2 PC's). It simply isn't worth the angst and heartbreak and chance a lesser product. Incidently it seems that those over a certain age are more frequently targeted with those emails naming a big bank, apparently we are more likely to open them....not in this house nor members of this Forum ...I just wish that I had truly won all those promised Lottery prizes that are sent to me!
