Hi - am visiting Calabria (Capo Vaticano) next week (!) and am interested in making an excursion by car to the Sila - can anyone recommend any attractive places to go - will have two small boys in tow...

Lesley & Brian - thanks - yes have looked you up - maybe meet for a drink & gelato around Cosenza - maybe Thurs? About 1.5 hours drive is max I want to subject the children to.. We are only there for a week, will email you privately to swap numbers (will have my trusty blackberry with me for email..!)
BTW read your article today - very interesting - (so will try not to bombard you with the uusal questions you must be sick of!) See you are near the Albanian villages, which Leslie Gardiner wrote about in his travel book 'South to Calabria' in the 60's. Very entertaining book - now out of print - got it via Amazon a few month again & will be taking it to re-read in situ.
