any of you into su doku i am an avid su dokian and was wondering if the craze has caught on in italy, i seem to remember that the last time i was in italy in july the pink, gazetta dello sport had a mighty su doku puzzle in it, not helped by the fact that the print had gone wrong and all the box lines were missing. ciao marco

Yes the craze has cought on in Italy.
This summer quite all the main newspapers had it (Repubblica, corriere della Sera, Sole 24Ore).
My wife got the fever and spent lot of time on it, becoming more expert (from plebeian to patrician ;) ) day after day

There is a subtle variation in Italian Sudoku. The rules say that the numbers 1-9 in each line and square are supposed appear only once. However it is acceptable for any number to appear up to two times, as long as you reason nicely with the person checking. Furthermore, if your name is Berlusconi, any number can appear in any space and you still win the game ;-)
