Hello,
I'll be giving a paper at the University of Salerno in May and was thinking of trying to bring my husband and 6 year old daughter with me. Any suggestions on good family places in the are where they can relax and have fun while I work? She considers any place with swimming and other children fun. :)

:) I know Procida. My family come from the island of Ischia.A village called Sentinella which is also my surname!!:) :)
Hi Gilio. I, too had an Italian father, English mother. My dad came from a small village in Pr.di Salerno near to Vallo della Lucania. I spent my childhood holidays at the family home, and now - as my husband is a complete Italophile (of course!) - we spend as much time as possible out there with our children, and in fact we're in the process of buying a new place. My dad was the youngest of 14 surviving children and so I have lots of relatives still in that village and in the region generally. Some cousins have moved to other places around the world, but we try to meet up each summer back in the village, and a few of us are buying our "retirement" homes there (although I have some way to go before I retire!). I feel really privileged to be in this position - all because of good old mum & dad! Bless 'em.
