all you need to do is point the receiver i think at astra... but it will be in any satellite tv guide book and remove your sky card....you will get the 3 rai channels and it will cost you nothing...plus a lot of eastern european channels....

You need to point your receiver at hotbird which is in a slightly different direction to astra, therefore if you want to continue to watch sky you either need another LNB (a prong as I call it) or a movable dish. Our local aerial company put a dish up for us with two LNB's quite cheaply.

Susi,

Could you please let me have some details, i.e. your local aerial company, costs. This is something I've been thinking about for a while but never got round to doing anything other than think about it! Please PM me with details.

Thanks.

Janie

Susi, could you please also PM details to me?
Many thanks.,
Sharon

hi there, if you still want to get sky, then you will need a twin lnb or rather
a second lnb fitted to your dish, if you don't want sky then you need to
swing your excisting dish round to hotbird as has already been said a good
satillite mag will have all the details.
a new sat box would be a good idea, prices start from 100 notes, as non
sky boxes can scan for all channels[of which you can get over 70 italian
ones]where as with your sky box you will need to get all the details of
where each channel is, which is very time consuming and also means
you can only get the major ones rather than regional and new channels.

all in all as long as you have a dish 150 notes should get you going.
