990 Not mozzies but flies.....

We dont seem to have a mosquito problem but a fly problem - unfortunately, our builders forgot to install our fly screens, therefore, this summer we are constantly plagued by flies, especially in the kitchen! Does anyone have any tips for keeping them out - other than the obvious one of keeping the windows closed - after all we are from England and believe that all windows should be flung as wide open as possible to let in all that lovely fresh country air.

Sensible suggestions only please!

Yes rachel, good post..despite all our gizmos' we have flies as well, but mostly they are a nuisance outside when we are sitting on the verandah, particularly in the afternoon when we are trying to have a snooze...they keep waking us up.

Any advise from anyone greatly appreciated

Instal your fly screens, they are going to be your only defence against the blighters, if you can't get the builder to fit them, as a temporary measure, buy the velcro type of screen from the supermarket and fit to your shaded windows only until your builders can fit the proper ones, that way, at least you can get some draught in the house.

As mighty senators, you should now have received your supply of young people to attend to your every need, simply instruct two or three of them to remove the flies from the area while you nap (quietly), the others can attend to the more mundane chores ;)
