Hi all Italian lovers,I am a mature,if not ancient, student who has just completed an Italian 'O'level at G.C.S.e.level.
I have arranged to attend a language school near Padova in Oct.2005 and am looking forward very much to that.I do have a slight worry about my advanced years, I am 66,and am slightly apprehensive lest I find myself surrounded by teenagers all the time.
Please don't misunderstand me I have teenage grandchidren of my own and am quite happy to act as a surrogate grandad but a week without mature conversation might be too much.I would be greatly obliged therefore if anyone with rxperience of an Italian language school could reassure me.

Don't worry ! I spent 2 weeks last summer at a language school in Firenze and it was wonderful. I was the only English student in my group and also the only one over 20 - I'm 50. Learning a language is a great leveler and we had a lot of laughs every day. Mind you I have to say that I was the only one (creep) to always do my homework - probably because I had paid for the course myself !, and I think they had rather more late nights than me, plus I had to walk up 92 steps to my apartment so I had to pace myself in the August heat of the city. Have fun.
